Commitment to the Profession

Description
This feedback is from my MCT I got it when she came to observe me. She sat with the school principal and chat with her. The principal mentioned that my colleague and I show professionalism in the school. Then my MCT talked with my MST.

Justification
Showing professionalism in the school is very important. Because we present the college we came from and our self too. Students teacher should act and engaged positively in the school community to build strong relationship with the staff. (Students teachers roles, 2013). Moreover, I will learn and get experience when I communicate with different people. For example, I will learn techniques to manage students. If I act professionally and follow the school roles I might have the chance to go back and work in that school by recommendation from the school principal.

The first competency is:

CLO1- demonstrate commitment to the teaching profession and personal growth as a teacher and a learner, and develop necessary social and communicative skills to deal effectively with teachers, learners, mentors and peers.
As evidence for achieving this competency I will use sub-outcome (1, 2, 3 &5) to demonstrate my growth in CLO1.
Evidence-1

Evidence-2
Figure 1: My MCT observation feedback
Figure 2: My notes during the First Aid course
Figure 3: The nurse is pointing at First Aid guide book
Figure 4: The certificate I got after First Aid course
Description
Figure 2,3 & 4 show "First Aid" course which I attended it in Suhaila School in my year 4 semester 1. I hear my MST talk about the course so I asked her if I can join too to have a certificate for my e-portfolio, and she said I think you can ask the nurse. I asked the nurse and she said I can attend the next day.

Justification
I wanted to join the course because as a teacher it will help me to deal with any emergency cases. If a child get hurt I will be able to heal him or do the necessary actin to cure him. Also, I wanted to collect evidence for PDP goal 3 which is "engaging in school events." In addition, it shows that my commitment as student teacher by applying my PDP goals during the TP.

Evidence- 3
Figure 5: Example of ocean pollution poster
Figure 6: Students making their posters
Description
One of my PDP goals is to include art in education for year 4 semester 1. The previous figures present students working on their posters about "Ocean pollution."

Justification
I chose to include these figures in professionalism section because it is related to my PDP goal 2. A professional teacher apply her philosophy and goals in her class to observe the influence of them in her students. Some studies shows that art and drawing increase the students' literacy skills, reading writing and math. (10 studies, n.d.). Also, drawing improves students' imagination and it will makes them excited to the lesson because students feel boring from hearing teacher explain for the whole day.

Evidence- 4

Figure 6: Give biscuits to school staff
Description
In my last day in training practice in "Suhaila School" in year 4 semester 1. My colleague and I ordered jar of biscuits to give it to the principal, vice principal, secretory, students' service, all English teachers, Arabic and History and Math teachers. They thanked us and they were happy with this simple gift.

Justification
We gave them this simple thing to thank them to what they did for us. They were happy to help us and answer our questions. So we wanted to give them something that show how we are thankful and appreciate their support. In addition, to show our professionalism we should build good relationship with the school staff.
